The Wizard of Oz, Pizza making and District Sports

We have only one more week until the summer holidays and the end of the school year. Where does the time go? As always, there is so much going on and lots of lovely celebrations as we prepare to say goodbye to our Year 6 pupils.

We all enjoyed Year 6’s production of The Wizard of Oz on Monday. The children have worked so hard. The songs were great, and we saw so many children sharing their talents at singing, dancing and acting. Yocchan made a wonderful Dorothy. The school watched the performance in the morning and their parents returned in the evening for the final show. Thank you so much to Mrs Hua for her wonderful work on the production.

On Tuesday, Year 1 enjoyed a walk down to Godalming to visit Pizza Express and make their own pizzas! This is a great trip, and they really enjoyed the walk through the Rec and up and down the ninety-odd steps. The children’s pizzas looked delicious, and they took them home to share with their families.

Wednesday afternoon saw our athletes from KS 2 competing at Charterhouse in the annual District Sports Competition. The children showed great team spirit and determination. Unfortunately, they did not retain their title as winners this year, but I was very impressed by the way they competed and congratulated the other competitors. Well done to all the children. We will be back stronger and faster next year!

This evening, we have the return of the Leavers Disco. I know the children are looking forward to dressing up and dancing and celebrating with their friends.

Have a lovely weekend,

Elizabeth
