Friday 3rd May 2024

Month of May

It's the first week of May, and we are still waiting for the warmer, dryer weather to arrive. This week has flown by, and it is Friday already!

We started with a week by talking about Jesus's story of the olive vine. Jesus being our vine, we are the branches and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, the vine's water and sunlight, we can bear fruit. The children thought about what they can do in their lives to show love and kindness to one another through their thoughts, words and actions.

The children have been busy learning in and out of the classroom this week. You can see some of our Year R children being teachers above! The Year 3 class has been enjoying their swimming lessons on Wednesday afternoons. They are all great swimmers. Our Year 1 children travelled back in time yesterday to experience life in a Victorian schoolroom at Tilford Rural Life Centre.  They have told me all about what happened if you didn't sit up straight or wrote with your left hand! The trips and visits do inspire and make learning stick for the children.

This morning, we have Lucy from Wintershall with us. She is leading Godly Play sessions with Year 2 and Year 5 this term and the children are really enjoying the story-telling and reflection through play.

I hope we see some sunshine. Enjoy the long weekend!
